1. Question: How can we study with 100% foreign teachers if our entry English levels are low?
Answer: Teachers at American Academy are very active with good pedagogical expertise and experience in teaching English as a second language along with body language skills, which help students understand what they try to convey. In addition, student service staff always follow closely the progress of weak students and help them study better by personalized teaching assistance methods.
Thereby, students can quickly integrate into the English speaking environment and improve their speaking skills in the shortest time.
2. Question: How can students understand grammar when only studying with foreign teachers?
Answer: We apply American modern and practical educational methods and practices to help students acquire grammar quickly and naturally. This is the best approach to grammar to enable the longest memory.
3. Question: How long does it take to get an aspired TOEFL iBT score (90 points)?
Answer: The time and cost you have to spend depends on your entry English levels. So you should take a placement test and our Admission Officers will show you how to reach your target from your present level – this plan will include the time and cost you have to spend.
4. Question: At the end of a course, if I cannot get a TOEFL iBT score as expected, is there any policy of free re-study or discount for next courses?
Answer: The progress of TOEFL scores are dependent on various factors such as teachers, textbooks, teaching methodology, study duration, students’ effort and some good luck during the exams. Therefore, American Academy cannot guarantee your scores but only tell you possible results that you can achieve based on our experience in training a majority of students so far. However, upon the completion of a TOEFL course, if you cannot get the aspired score, you will enjoy a 50% discount for taking the same course again.
5. Question: American Academy is specialized in TOEF iBT preparation courses. Is it possible to help students to master grammar with only native teachers?
Answer: All students who take TOEFL iBT preparation courses are at intermediate or higher levels so the acquisition is no longer difficult. Moreover, our teachers are highly experienced in teaching TOEFL iBT preparation courses. Therefore, it’s not a challenge for them to help students to master grammar.
6. Question: It’s said that IELTS is easier than TOEFL iBT. Is it right? If yes, I prefer studying IELTS?
Answer: The format of TOEFL iBT helps to evaluate students’ English level in 4 separate skills and so does IELTS’s.
In terms of the challenging level, these two exams are considered as equivalent. The different points are their structures and where they are accepted. IELTS is commonly accepted in some countries like Australia, the UK, Singapore, and New Zealand while the US and Canada accept TOEFL iBT. You can choose IETLS or TOEFL iBT based on your demands.
7. Question: American Academy designs and organizes very exciting summer courses for students annually. Are you going to continue this year and when is the opening day?
Answer: Annually, American Academy studies and organizes special Summer courses for students called Summer Fantasy with very creative and constantly updated contents and extra-curricular activities to help students not only study English and have pleasures but also understand life values, which is very necessary for the thinking and judging development of urban children.
The program usually begins in the first week of June and end in the first week of August annually.
8. Question: How long does it take to complete the course enrolment procedures at American Academy?
Answer: We always try to provide students with the best and quickest service. However, it usually takes over one hour to complete the placement test, free consultancy and enrolment process.
9. Question: My children are very naughty. I am really worried to let them study with foreign teachers because I am afraid that teachers cannot communicate well with them. Can I stand outside the classroom to observe?
Answer: For English for Kids courses, there are teaching assistants in class to take care of and support them. Moreover, all foreign teachers of these courses are highly experienced and skilled in “dealing” with young students. However, if you are still worried, you can visit our website to observe online their studying process. Sounds and images from online cameras are very clear.
10. Question: I am studying at American Academy. If I recommend the center to my friends and relatives, will I enjoy a discount for my next courses?
Answer: American Academy appreciates and encourages your recommendations if you are satisfied with our quality and services. And we also have a policy of 5%, 10%, or 15% discount which will be directly deducted from the tuition for you, your friends or relatives when enrolling in a new course.
